Your 4th?

Post by longlegsrule »

Hey I saw spuzo's interesting story from her 4th...anybody got anymore??

I spent mine in a $3 million+ penthouse condo (that no one lives in) overlooking Cincinnati...with just 6 people...the place had 7 balconies and marble floors...my jaw was agape the entire time.
We could see the firework displays in the entire KY and OH river valley and beyond...the only problem...it was such a memorable event....that I spent with my ex.

Ray and I climbed at the Obed with Morgain and Horatio. Even though it rained a LOT, that place has so much to offer for dry routes that we got some great climbing in. We climbed so many amazing lines that I am blown away by that place. We'll definitely be back there a lot.

I went to the New for the 4th. We put together a huge group of about 12+ people from Columbus. We made friends with some "stray" climbers from the south at Kaymore and invited them to our campsite. Turns out they were all great guitar players and had brought their guitars. We had an awsome night of music and partying. The fireworks in Fayetteville we fun. Climbing was cool as usual but we did more swimming and partying then climbing...great weekend!

I got to follow some stellar, challenging trad lines with Yas, Sandy and later, the Manimal (such a super guy) over the weekend. It was so friggen awesome!

I was also there for the "crotch rocket" show and party at Hell. Good times, good times!

Oh, and apologies to Oddball for eating your food and chastizing you for being a lazy mofo.

I spent the 4th weekend attending a family reunion of my in-laws @ Lake Cumberland. My mother & father in-law have a place at the Lake and there is always a 4th party in the circle at the end of their road. Apparently it is well known to be a happenin' party as we were visited by representatives of http://www.lakecumberlandfun.com and they took some pictures for their site. If you go to their page and go to July & then to the 4th you can see a picture of me in my tie-dye 4th shirt lighting sparklers for my daughter & her second cousins. There is also a picture of my mother-in-law with my wife's cousin in the background. My wife's cousin is from California & it was The Simple Life comes to Lake Cumberland with her in her high heels & tight outfits. On Mon. we took the boat to Mill Springs to watch them run the Mill. They'd never seen the likes of a California girl like that at the Mill.
