I've Become as Ass

"The squeaky wheel gets the grease," my dad always said. I've tried, in life, to be the nice guy (generally). I mean I can get as testy as the next guy or gal, but sometimes you've just got to show your ass. For example, I call the power company to tell them there is a tree limb pressing down on one of their power lines behind my house. They send some tree service to cut it off, which they did. They also left about a half ton tree limb lying where my kids swing on the swingset. They refer me to customer service, who tells me they don't remove debris under any circumstances... well, I guess I'm in a bad mood or something, but I kinda snapped. I got loud, real loud, I threatened a letter to the editor campaign; I threatened to call the local television station; I asked for everyone's names and their supervisors; I lie and tell them I own a lot of stock in the company. I raised quite a ruckus. About an hour later the tree company shows up and apologizes profusely. The power company regional forestry supervisor calls and apologizes and asks me if I'm satisfied with the cleanup. It just goes to show you... in life you don't need to be a brain... just an ass.

Good job, overhung! Holy shit, that's AWESOME!!!!

It's not being an ass. You knew you were being taken advantage of and you stood up for yourself. They shouldn't walk all over customers like that.

Overhung....um, can you think maybe you could take care of something for me? See there is this cell phone company called Cingular....yeah, they are INSISTANT upon the fact that I owe them over $1000....which I DO NOT and THREE months ago they said they were taking care of it and crediting my account....and here I am...service shut off and racking up monthly bills still, activiation fees, cancellation fees and so on...and now they say they were initially wrong about saying they could credit my account.

I called the better biz bureau...but really, if you would like to become a contract ass...and take care of some surly customer service people...please, let me know!

Man Overhung you rock! THat's awesome! Woohoo! That's not what I call being a dick man. It's taking care of yourself and your family. The company lied to you about not cleaning up after themselves. If you had to "stretch" the truth a little to get what they owe, who cares.

Besides you can always say, "hey I thought it was an electric cooperative and that I therefore own part of the company." He he he

My buddy should be a contract ass. One time a package that he needed came late from UPS to our apartment, so he called them to let them know, and boy did he let them know. From then on we got everything from UPS about two days earlier than we were supposed to. He can do this same trick with anyone, its great.

I guess the lesson I've learned, young padujuan, is to embrace the anger. Yes, embrace it. I usually just try to exert self-control, but not this time... no, not this time. Have you ever gotten so angry that you're actually light-headed and you feel like your eyeballs are rolling back in your head? I was actually giddy with anger.

yeah and then you can't remember what you said or did....blinded by it....when i get real angry that's what happens...it's all a blur...then i have to hide the bodies.

I was on the phone with yet another Cingular supervisor today...they are all named like Gina or Ginger...it's weird. I had SUCH the urge when Ginger repeated her name for me to say: "Have you seen Maryanne and the professor?"

I told them I filed a complaint with the BBB - which I did and then the consumer reports guy here at works said to tell them i had filed with the attorney general - which I am in process of doing....and to tell them that Channel 9 is looking into it as a consumer reports story....we'll see. Cingular WILL NOT waive the contract charges...ok fine....but the $1000....has GOT To go....

pant pant pant.....

I'm ok now the seizure has passed

and if that doesn't work, I'm sending Joe in.....

Did you ever notice that a capped oil well is the perfect place to dump a quartered body?

Damn overhung, you're scaring me. You need to come climbing and chill out a little.

P.S. Please don't bring any sharp objects.
