Burning Spray

Post by Jeff »

I'm climbing a sport climb this weekend and come around a small roof and look up to the next hand hold.
I feel a few drops hit my face and think "wtf?" It's sunny and dry, where's this water coming from?
Then I see about three feet up is a weird looking black beetle caught in a spider web and the spider is going at him.
The beetle is squirting out this juice and that's what hit me.
The stuff starts burning like acid. Glad I didn't get any in my eyes.
If I start growing pinchers out of my head, you will know what's up.

That's pretty wild, Jeff! I thought this post was going to be about someone spraying at Miguel's, but this is more interesting.

What type of super-powers do you anticipate?

Hopefully it wasn't a stink beetle.....

A friend of mine got nipped by a radioactive chigger. Now she is really good at getting under other people's skin.

I got covered in a huge spider web leading the second pitch of Party Time this weekend. It was right on the section where the crack gets pretty wide (maybe the crux of the top half?) and you have to lay back a few moves. Fun stuff.

There were also about 20-25 bees swarming around American Crack. That was interesting too. :D

The bee's and wasps are thick at Fortress Wall. The whole top ledge was swarming with big bummble bee's...they were docile for the most part. the wasps on the other hand were wicked mean. They are in the pockets to the right of the route Snake. Also wasps on the route Jump for joy at Roadside, they were just above the third bolt, nested in a pocket.

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
