Be sure to read the home page thoroughly...understand what the goal is and if you have questions you can PM me here without having to actually join the group.
Our non-profit status is in process and any help anyone wants to offer is welcome.
Thanks

After reading your homepage thoroughly, I am unclear of what the goal of your organization is?

Since Joe can't post on here, I will do my best to explain.
This is the very initial stages of setting up a full-functioning non-profit group. (I'm knee-deep in paperwork and info) the goal -loosely being to help defer the cost of route and rock development by providing equipment to bolters. All bolting would have to follow guidelines for that area - but would like to concentrate on getting permission from private landowners moreso than continuing to bolt already developed areas. And this is not restricted to the geological area or even to the Red for that matter.
I say loosely because the idea is to have those interested help to create the mission statement and other structural aspects. This may be why some said they don't see the goal of the group. I hope the above paragraph helps clear it up a little. It's still in the gestation period and constructive input is welcomed and wanted.
Hope that helps, thanks for asking.

So, pretty much a way for people to give you all money so Joe can bolt routes for free?

nope not at all - This is for OTHER people. I dont know if you're joking or being serious, since it's hard to tell on the board...but I would like to not make this a thread where I have to keep defending him. Talk to Dr Bob about it Wes if you want another opinion. He is well aware of this effort and maybe you will like his explanation better. Don't you think Terry might enjoy receiving a fat box of bolts to work on projects with? This is not about Joe. He just is kick starting it.
Like I said, I dont know if you were joking, but anyone who knows him would know that he is really not about monetary gain or making this about him. He thought it would be a good way to help defer the costs of development, knowing that a lot of people foot the bill, which can get large, on their own to create areas for everyone to enjoy.

with the increased popularity of climbing,it might be a good way to develop more climbs and prevent crowding and erosion. The SR and Muir are already easing the strain on the national forest. This could help things along if it works .
