May 29: Small ring snake spotted in the thin section of Headstone Surfer at Funk Rock City, unphased by TCU and fingers.
June 5: Small to medium copperhead under the big flat top boulder below Jump for Joy. Typical copperhead activity, barely moved, just stuck its head out every once in a while. I kept thinking it was in a stare down with this lizzard and that it would lunge after the litlle bugger, remembered snakes can't see real well, woke up from my daydream and finished belaying

Saw the biggest rattlesnake of my life a few weeks ago. Was hiking through some pretty thick stuff, it opened up and the monster was there. Saw it again on the hike out but closer, like right-next-to-my-leg closer. It had moved to a different spot.
Went back to that area a few days ago and was so paranoid it took me 45 min to hike what would normally take me about 15.

we saw 3 copperheads at Wall of Denial yesterday. One was very old and fat and docile. Another climber was pounding his water bottles into the dirt RIGHT next to him before he noticed the snake, who barely moved. No one would let me poke them with my stick, though.

There was a small copperhead between Up Yonder and Ro Shampo on Saturday. Was in the same spot the whole time we were there. Chris said it was there two other times as well this past week.

Spotted: Large black snake before crossing Smoky Fork Creek in the Muir Valley on 6/6.
Don't know why I feel the need to report such a snake, more interested in the ones taking up residence at the base of, or on routes. Guess I just want to know that everyone else sees these damn things. For the most part I hate snakes.

june 5 saw two small copperheads by solar collector just chillin next to the rocks at the base, somehow didn't notice them till we were leaving. I hate snakes for no reason other than they can bite. poked at them, took a while for them to move so i guess just don't step on them and your in the clear.
where there is one you know there has to be two more larger ones.

saw a copper head at the base of Horny Bitch. It was just lying there, did not bother us . I sat my rack down next to it. I thought I had checked out the base good, but I did not see it on my first look, they blend in with the leaves so good.

I guess I should have said that these snakes were all near Strick 9 (just past Sisyphean Labor).

We've seen numerous snakes too in Muir Valley and lots more just on the roads during the big storm a week ago.
Just a reminder guys, if you still don't carry one, those cheap little snake bite kits could come in handy.
