Since I'm obviously very bored and have nothing better to think about I was curious if any of you, having, climbed a fair amount at the Undertow wall ventured to the Darkside expecting the same kind of experience and



how much steeper y'all think the DS is compared to Undertow?

Undertow is a bit steeper. The climbing at the Darkside is different though. It's more bouldery and powerful with less jug rests from my experience. If there is a huge rest it will usually be in a hueco and not a big iron oxide block (like at the Undertow Wall). The pockets are sharper at the Darkside too (I guess because the routes are younger than the routes at the Undertow Wall).

I like em both, but the darkside seems to have more "original" lines(i.e. not just crimp ladders)

really? damn I could have sworn the Darkside felt a lot steeper as keeping my feet on the wall seemed much more difficult than on Undertow and when I lowered it appeared that I was a lot farther back from the start.

The main difference between these crags that I've noticed is that the Darkside is somehow just a bit darker than the Undertow. There may be other differences, but that's the only one I really have personal experience with.

I prefer the Undertow personally. They don't call it the "Sharpside" for nothing.

The undertow is so freaking boring after the last 4 years attempting to climb there. The Darkside is where it is at, the moves r generally cooler. However, the routes r harder by a lot at the Darkside.

I have seen a bunch of white dudes at the undertow wall and mostly the same at the darkside. Wierd.
