My mom and sister are in Lexington for the horse events, since I will be down climbing, I figured I could meet up with them for some chow.
What are some restaurants with really good food?
Thanks.

Lexington is kinda lame for good restaurants. Here are our favorites:
The Oasis - Mediterranean food. Inexpensive and extremely casual atmosphere. Rec: Chicken Kabob and Garlic Chicken. High Street
Rincon Mexicano - Mexican food. Casual and good. Rec: Burrito and Fajitas.Euclid Avenue
Siam - Thai. Really good, elegant, and inexpensive. Pad Thai and Gang Panang. New Circle and around Limstone (north Lexington).
Tandoor - Indian. Rec: Chicken Tika Masala and Vegetable Korma. Man O' War and around Todd's Road.
Johnny Carino's - Country Italian (whatever that is). It's a good chain. Rec: Rosmary Chicken. Hamburg Pavillion (Man O' War).
Macaroni Grill - Always good. Rec: Chicken Scallopini, Make Your Own Pasta, Tira Misu (mmm....). Nicholasville and Man O' War.

Now Artsay dear, when you mention chains in your list of favorites you got issues.
The restaurants are one of the best things about this backwoods town.
Mediterranean used to be Oasis, it's now Alladin's on Richmond Road. New owners killed a great thing couple of years ago.
Rincon is cool. 2 for 1 Margarita's Thursday night.
Siam Thai has been kinda weak after they rebuilt. Bangkok House is the best Thai now, especially if you dig on spicy.
Tandoor is good stuff, but I'm kinda partial to Kashmir since they know me there.
Then there's Ramsey's downtown for pie and zucchini burgers, Lynagh's pub for the best burgers in town, Pazzo's for pizza 'n beer, Gardenside Cafe for well prepared dining and a kick ass wine list, Haddie's cafe for homecookin, Segano's for sushi, Furlong's for atmosphere and kick ass creole goods, Mancino's for lunch grinders.....
...man I could go on and on.
How old's the sister? What time are you dining and what kind of stuff would
they want?

charlie,
My issue is with folks that dis on a restaurant for being a chain...and folks for liking them.
Macaroni Grill is always consistently delicious. There's a reason why there are 100's around the country.
no grain - another great restaurant I forget to mention is Bella Notte. Their Chicken Masala is the bomb. <shutter....gasp> It may be a chain though.

Oh, yeah. For the horse-ier experience, get reservations at Merrick Inn.

If you want to shell out the cash, A' La Lucie's is nice and the food is excellent. Dudley's is good and I still like De Sha's too. If you just want a good burger, wings, fries, beer, whatever, go to Two Key's Tavern. Their food is still pretty damn good. Now if you want GOOD wings, try Applebee's or BW3's. MMMMMMM, WINGS......
