two things miss attorney...you should be defending their right to smoke any where they damn well choose...liberals are so predictable....right to choose health care, right to reproduction, but not rights for gun owners or smokers...

I hate cigarette smoke, but I will defend their right 100% to smoke where ever and when ever they want...I believe in personal responsibility, not more laws...I also believe in a woman's right to choose, AND a gun owners right to bear arms...

and , I love ani difranco, but are you kidding???? talk about capitalism..we had the greatest creation of WEALTH ever under the Clinton admin....now there was a true capitalist...lol..but let's forget the facts and focus on our ideology anyway....

Also a whole lot of misrepresented profits and corporate scandals leading the layoff of hundreds of thousands of people.

But that doesn't matter. . .

Piggie first off, who are you to tell me what I should do? Isn't that in fact a contradiction to your whole point? Using your logic, I can do whatever in the hell I want.

I believe in the personal choice to be free from second hand smoke as well. My point is that sometimes exercise of a personal freedom interferes with the freedom of others. People chose to exercise their freedom to smoke and it has encroached at times on my freedom to be free of it. So get off your high horse.

I can't imagine you listening to Ani. The point isn't that Capitalism is completely wrong but that the top-heavy distribution of wealth and the influence of that wealth on the political system is undemocratic. It yields the result that the monied powerful few have a disproportionate amount of influence on those who make the laws. I'd much prefer the widespread dispursement of wealth. So piss off.

Yep, sorry Piggy. Sprague is dead on. People who exercise their "right" to smoke are ACTIVELY infringe upon my right to breathe clean air. Just because you have the right to do something, doesn't always mean it's right to do it. Now when someone is just sitting around "outside", I believe it's majority rules. I won't go around a bunch of people smoking, but I don't expect them to sit down next to me and light up either.

lmao..now we're talking people...

where to start....

Sprag, I saw Ani in New Orleans 7 years ago and fell in love with her. Her lyrcis, while off the wall liberal, are some of the smoothest and brilliant songwriting ever. "I can't imagine you listening to Ani"....Interesting, you wouldn't be pre judging my musical tastes would you?

So let's stay with your defense....since lawful gun ownership does not infringe on you in any way, shape or form, can I assume you vigorously defend gun owners too?

Since school vouchers don't infringe on you, do you defend those too?

(BTW, surely you know I was jesting. I HATE cigarette smoke in restaurants. I will eat elsewhere before subjecting myself to too many toxic fumes.)

I just find the two political parties so tied to special interests that it is laughable. Neither side has a cohesive argument for justifying their actions.

BTW, I am betting every single person who helped set up this country back in 1776 with the Declaration was a very wealthy individual. In case you missed history class in high school, the rich, famous, and powerful have always been in charge in America. Nice democracy... You think the Kennedys are any less "pwerful or rich" than the Bush family...lmao...
