I just thought I'd give you all the heads up. I am leading a climbing class from my college to the red this weekend.
We will be climbing at Pistol ridge on saturday, and pebble beach on sunday.
these areas were specificlly chosen so we wouldn't be tieing up popular areas, but I still thought I'd give you the heads up.
we will be 11 or 12 people, and due to the god da## fuc#### liability we can not allow others to climb on the school ropes.
I will try to keep from having more than 2 ropes up at a time, but never the less, it is a whole lot of people
warning: big group at pebble and pistol this weekend

Not sure Mia. Not a lawyer nor do I have any idea what the rules are. So it may be that if you teach a climbing class and you take the class outdoors you are a guide and have to have the permits (if any, Wicked Tribe you know?).
It could just come down to how anal people want to be on the wording of the rules.

Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.
Strum, the heads up is very cool of you. If you haven't already, you need to contact the Stanton Ranger District about a permit. I'm not sure of the restrictions on group size, but I know there is a modest fee associated if your group is a certain size. The DBNF climbing rules state to limit group size to no more than 4-6 climbers. You can contact them at 606-663-2852.
Also, please educate your group on the following:

The above is from http://www.southernregion.fs.fed.us/boone/rockclimb.htm where more guidelines can and should be reviewed with new climbers.Pack It In, Pack It Out
All food wastes, including fruit cores and peels, should be carried out.
Please pick up trash when you find it. Discarded tape and cigarette butts are unsightly, so consider bringing a small plastic bag in your pack for trash.
Properly dispose of what you can't pack out
Use toilets where available.
If toilets aren’t available, urinate away from vegetation, climbing routes, streams and trails.
Dispose of solid human waste in a "cathole" at least 200 feet away from trails, the bases of climbs, water sources, or campsites; carry your own trowel for this reason.
Pack out your toilet paper in resealable plastic bags.
