12d's that are easier that The Original start of Table

Post by Power2U »

After reading Pigsteaks post on looking for a 13a that wouldn't be downgraded I took a look at the on-ine guide b/c I made the comment that I could name several 12d'a that are easier than Table's original start...so hear it goes....

Tuna Town
Leave It to Beavis
Racer X
Stunning The Hog
The Dinosaur
and
KillBilly

What do you think :?:

Downgrading Porter's route is the same thing as doubting his abilities at the time. His ability and experience at the time far surpasses that of any chuffer who downgrades his routes.

The problem with your list is that with the possible exception of Racer X and Stunning the Hog, all of those routes listed are concensus 12c. Where do these grade inflations come from?
Killbilly is maybe 12c. Dinosaur is just 12c. Beavis and Tuna Town have always been 12c.
Racer X is 12d light.

Try these on for size up against Table old school start.
Mind Meld
Shanghai
Team Wilson
Snooker (with the eightball finish)

Dinosaur is 5.12c if you've got the reach to go straight up. I had to go out right on the micros and it sure as shit was harder than 5.12c homey.
And if I'm not mistaken, Porter first rated it 5.13a because he had to go out right on the micros as well.

Ahhh...let the downgrading begin!

No really Lurkist... I have never seen Beavis listed at 12c. I do agree on KillBilly though...definitely not 12d.

All good climbs..who knows what they are graded???? certainly not me!

Ah right, the Tall guy burden. True, true. I forgot about the Dinosaur height dependent move. You are right- I do recall Porter doing it and having to get up off that little ledge on pimpers. I have no doubt that it is 12d/13a having to do that.
One of the few routes where being 6'5" is an advantage.

Maybe Beavis is 12d. I gues it just never felt as hard as other 12d's- eg. Team Wilson.

Team wilson may be the hardest one on the Undertow wall from what I hear
I hear that Shanghi ain't too bad but I know Snooker is rough!

Hey Ray,

Do you consider the Dinosaur your hardest sport RP to date? By the way good job on those heinous crimps. Maybe you just did your first 13a yet no body knows its...not evern you...scarry  :o

Thanks John. Yea, I'd consider it my hardest Sport RP to date.
Maybe I'll add another route to the online guidebook:
Little Dinosaur 5.13a (for the shorter guys) just so I can spray.
Just kidding.

I plan on projecting sport a little more this year so maybe I'll do a real 5.13a (even though it seems there are only a few *real* 5.13a routes).

Agree with Lurkist: Tuna Town is 12b/c (and one of the best), Beavis is 12c/d. Racer X is 12c/d (12d light).

BOTH Snooker and 8 Ball are 12d.

Stunning the Hog is way too short to be 12+. 12c I think.

I thought Mind Meld was as hard as The Force (maybe both solid 12d).
