We have been there. Greg Martin is the Director of the park & he w/Greg Purnell have done the majority of developing. It's all pretty much eliminate problems. Fall & Winter are dfinitely the time to climb there because the rock is pretty wet other wise. Also Greg has a cool gym in one of the buildings! We have been talking about maybe having a party this winter, drunken' climbing comp!!! It's worth checking out & if you mountain bike, bring it along as well!!

Yeh, that is a cool place but it is the same drive for me as Red River Gorge. So... if you had to choose which one would you pick? I was just curious if anyone knew of anything different.

uhhh, without a doubt the red.

anyway, the rock and road atlas lists 6 areas but the only good one is listed as closed.

Turkey Run State Park has two stars. it says there is minimal climbing but good bouldering on sandstone.

Unlikely Wall also gets two stars. 30 sport routes mostly 5.10 or harder on limestone.

if you want more info I can post more. i don't know if the other areas are worth mentioning.

2 Starts for Turkey Run? It is nothing but a choss pile, there is no climbing there. Unlikely Wall might suck but it should not be equal to Turkey Run.

5 Stars For Unlikely Wall! hip hip hooray!

I love climbing in So.Il. You ever climbed there? Man it is fun, maybe we can hook up at J-falls sometime.

Indiana has a few choss piles, I just didn't know if anyone has seen anymore rock than I have. Lots of rock along the Ohio R. Ever heard of Kickapoo Falls? I hadn't... until this super secret climber told me of these cool climbing spots in Indiana. Kickapoo is closed now but the word is the Statler Brothers, Yvon Chourinard, Lynn Hill have all climbed here.
