This may have been beaten to death, but I don't know the answer so I appolagize in advance.
Does anyone know if there are any plans to release a new edition of the guidebook?
I also love the idea of putting it in some format for PDAs even though it seems sort of sacreligious to take something like that to the crag.
Thx.

Yeh, the new guidebook came out like a year ago. Ray Ellington & John Bronaugh.

Here, single page version for PDAs (takes some time to generate).

I actually had much better luck syncing the 'normal' site
http://www.redriverclimbing.com/RRCGuideV2/
to my PDA using avantgo, just going a few levels deep. (I tried syncing the single page, but there was a file size restriction) This also gave me the popular routes list, as well as all of the comments and spray!

This idea of synching a web page, or series of them in this case, is new to me. Any pointers?

There are probably easier ways of doing it, but I found it to be convenient to set up a (free) account with
www.avantgo.com, and set up a custom channel for the guide. That way, every time I synced the palm with the PC, I got all of the current guide info at the same time.

I am working on the sport side of the guide right now. I hope to finish with my part in the summer.
I am almost done "cut and pasting" from Ray's guide. If he would hurry up and finish putting in the other crags, I could get the written guide out sooner.
Hurry up, Ray. You are making me look bad.

I hope you are verifying route difficulty ratings, starting with the FA's perhaps. I saw some scary mistakes in the guide at thered.org.

Everything is being looked at, from FA's to bolt counts. Right now, parts of the book are being beta tested for accuracy. The most common complaint to date (as always) is about grades.
