I think that in order to put climbers into some kind of ranking,( just in general) experence, knowledge, and ability are key. Experence is extremly important, we all know some old guy that we think couldn't even do a pull-up or a sit-up, but he suprises us by pulling down harder than us.....

these aoptions aren't enough to decide respect. some people respect people that do horror show a5 nailups in patagonia, others people that send v-sharma boulder problems, still others respect the old guy at the cliff pulling down on 5.9 trad after 30 years. it is different for all people. i espect people and i also respect their accomplishments.
for example...
i respect the accomplishments of some deuschbag that does 5.13x on gritstone.
i respect the person that is cool and climbs 5.9.
i have no reason to respect you anymore. back when you climbed 5.11 roof cracks in a gym, i respected your accomplishments. this fall when we hung out at miguels i respected you as a person. now all you do is bitch and moan about stupid shit while sitting at the base of the cliff chainsmoking camels.
this poll is bullshit and so is your arguement.

so do i have more respect than you on the board? i have 500 something and you have 50.
i don't think there is anything wrong with chasing numbers. i want to push my limits to see what i am capable of. numbers also open more climbing possibilities. try taking a roadtrip if you can only climb 5.8, there would be many areas you just couldn't climb at and gain your precious experience.
