2 days and three snakes later. The lil shits were out in force. We climbed at the Zoo today and Amy was leading the first slab route, i think its called Welcome to the Zoo. Anyway in a pocket below the last bolt a decent sized copperhead was sunning. She stuck her hand in and pretty much crimped down on him. Then yesterday at Emerald City on the trad line around the corner from Father and Son(i think thats the name of it, 7 trad line where trail comes up) was a baby copperhead sunning, and right down from it was another snake that i had no idea what it was.
By the way does anyone know what the arete/slab sport line to the right on Father and Son is. Its a real cool line, if i had to guess it would be 10c or so. Real cool arete/slopper moves.

Vision actually goes all the way to the top if you head up and over to the right... the climbing is even better than down low (though a bit licheny still). Turns vision into a 3 star line in my book!
If you thought Pinstripe was 10c you must not have found the secret hold!![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

:: I may be weak, but I have bad technique!! ::
The snake didnt do to much really. When amy put her hand in the pocket she screamed and jumped to the right a few feet. When i went up to clean it the snake was gone.
I am terrible at rating climbs. I figured it was a 10, coming over the first bulge i figured it would be tuff for shorter people, thats why i guessed at a 10c. Either way it was a pretty fun route. Vision is a fun route, we only did it to the first anchor, i didnt know it went on to the top. Do you walk or rap off if you take it all the way.

she was lucky to have that happen in this cool weather. if that would have happened during the summer she would have gotten bitten for sure. snakes are very inactive this time of (being exothermic) the year. my herpotology teacher puts snakes in the freezer (during the summer) to be able to handle them so he can position them to take pictures for slides. then he releases them back where he found them. don't go to his freezer for ice during the summer!
because i can
