Topic Notification e-mails

Hey, isn't the system only supposed to send one notification of a post in a thread and then not send one until you've visited that thread?

What with my new rank and all I get tired of clicking and seeing it all over again.

dude, I'm not speaking for Ray, but you may recall that Ray has had to shell out even more bucks in order to handle the email load going out from this server. Why don't you turn off the stupid topic notification emails and just check the threads that interest you when you log on?

The e-mail notification itself says "no more notifications will be sent until you visit the topic" so I thought this might be a problem. I'm not bitching, really.

Most of the time I've only got time to go back to the threads I'm interested in, and most of these I've asked questions in or something. About once a week I go dig through the other threads. If I remember correctly, the issue with e-mails was AOL problems. Or maybe not. My temperature is 102 right now so I'm not real sure of anything. I'm only tracking three threads with e-mail right now anyway, it's just odd that it's started notifying me several times per thread.

I just got the following error message when sending a PM:
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 400 Monthly Quota exceeded.

DEBUG MODE

Line : 40
File : /home/httpd/html/redriverclimbing/includes/smtp.php
Ray - did you already increase the monthly email allotment? If so, perhaps we need to ask people to stop using topic notification.

They bumped me up temporarily but I forgot to call them to pay. I'll give them a call today.

Okay, I just bumped it up to 5,000 max emails/month. So, topic notification at will!

Damn, Ray. 400 to 5000 in 4 minutes flat. Kind of like this:
