On January 20, 2004 the RRGCC closed, and has officially purchased the 700 acre Murray Property and boldly stepped into the future!!!

I hate to bring everyone down but this is just half the battle. There is still a lot of money that needs to be raised. If you are lucky and are getting a refund from Big Brother, er Uncle Sam, think about giving some to the RRGCC for the purchase.

Ya know, this is the largest tract of land ever purchased by a climbing organization in the US. It's really incredible. There is more work to be done for sure, and difficulties will be encountered along the way with a cost, but it sure feels good to be so proactive in ensuring that we have great places to climb. I'm very hopeful that the Murray tract will be an exemplary place to climb for generations.

What do you mean the RRGCC has not opened the land to climbing......Does that mean that it is closed to climbing? The last word that I had from SSS was that there was an
advisory not to climb. There was still permission to climb, though. Please clarify this......I don't want to become a nuisance......Please clarify this........I don't want to become a nuisance.......

Nuisance, I mean Dirt,
The Southern Region is not open for business yet. The RRGCC has not lifted the advisory. At this time, the car towing issue is not resolved.

Please clarify if it is just an advisory or if the CC has recinded permission to climb there? Please.....pretty please........lots of sugar on top!!!!

Dirt,
I love the southern region just as much as anyone on here (if not more), but even I am staying away until further notice. If you love it that much and just absolutely cannot wait, go climb at the Lode. It's southern region style sandstone and there are more 11's and 12's that you could fall off of in a year. The RRGCC is doing a good thing here so please don't ruin it for the rest of us.
