Power2U said the Oasis was really cool. I will definitely be going back there at some point too....when it warms up. :D

Hey Aaron, you should come climb with us for a few weekends if you really want to expand your horizons. P2U and ToddC are great guys and will have you climbing all kinds of new stuff (and they will be out there in any kind of weather you want). Now I am not saying we are bushwacking pioneers like some of the trad guys on here, but since I have been climbing with P2U my crag diversity has expanded greatly from the classic Torrent-Lode-Roadside-Left Flank-Military circuit. Never in a million years would I have tried to find places like the Unlode or Beer Trailer Crag if he hadn't wanted to go check them out. Oh yeah, I appreciate him puttin up with all my damn whining about the weather too!

As for the Oasis and your quest for 11's Aaron...Check out Purple Valley..Electric Cowboy 11b is one of the best 11's around...Delusions of Grandur and Love shack are also good 11s.

The Oasis is cool and not really in the SR. It has rought aproach that I woul dadvise walking instead of trying to drive due to the shape o the road. It's not too long though just rough. There are some great 11's there and one epic looking super tall 12.

just got back from the oasis. cool climbing. finnegan's ladder is awesome!!!!! hard 25 ft of climbing in only 25 ft!
hum was pretty hard and i didn't enjoy it. will go back to try paddy o'keefe's walking shoes. there's is a draw on manzanita if anybody wants it (it's on the last bolt, booty i assume).
might want to include in the directions that w/o a 4wd and knowledge of how to use it well, there is no way in hell you're driving back there!!!! parts of the road fell off and 4 wheelers have created big ruts. maybe park at the sun oil co. lot????

cool climbs w/ no approach!!!

aaron, thanks for the beta-- I added it to the online guidebook, but since I wasn't sure if there'll be any drama due to parking in the lot, I left that part out. If someone wants to verify that it's okay to park there, I'll add that to the comment: http://www.redriverclimbing.com/RRCGuid ... .php?id=82
