Since there aren't any directions on the internet for this place, I called and got 'em. It's about 20 miles from downtown Chattanooga.

From Chattanooga, take 27N past Redbank. Take the Harrison Lane exit and at the light take a left. Take a left at the next light you come to (T intersection). Drive about a mile until you get to a light with a convenient store on your left. Turn right (you'll see a sign for Montlake Golf). Drive up the mountain about 20miles and take your third Montlake exit. The clubhouse is a block down on the left. The phone number for the clubhouse is 423-332-3111 but PLEASE don't call them for info if you can find it on the internet! The last thing the want is climbers bugging them and taking away from the golfers.

Access is tricky so read up on it in advance. All visitors are required to have a day pass and parking permit. http://www.seclimbers.org/areas/tenness ... cess.shtml

Thanks Artsay! I've been trying without any luck to find where LRC was. Now I don't have to search anymore!

you have to register electronically, in the morning the day you are climbing, so keep that in mind folks.

just so you know, you can start registering at 5:30 am on the day you're planning to climb. the chattanooga folks often wake up that early to ensure a spot. most of the time, reservations are filled up by 7 or 8 am.

For the travelling climbers.

there is a library in downtown chatanooga that you can register from. the computers you can print from are on the second floor. the library is at the corner of broad and 10th. there is no free parking but if you are quick it will only take a dollars worth of time. from the library it takes about 15 minutes to get up to the area, just get on 27.

on weekdays there is not problem with getting reservations.

i was just there a couple days ago and it rocks. of course HP40 rocks as well.

I was told that Rock Creek Outfitters in Chattanooga will help climbers set up computer registration and everything. So if anyone is ever there, and in need of a computer for this purpose, check out Rock Creek.
