the doldrums
the doldrums
It's finally hit folks... old age. I'm 39, and I can feel the first tendrils of the winter of my life whisping around my creaking body. My six year old daughter pulled a hair from the top of my ear...THE TOP OF MY EAR! I've noticed a tendency to carry more weight than I used to. I pull muscles that used to spring and snap back. I retaliate against this chronological attack by torturing myself every morning with a three mile run. All it gets me is fatigue and increased hunger. All my friends hit the 'ol mid-life crisis before me and I laughed at their despair and cynical attitudes. However, now I find myself in the cosmetics aisle of Wal-Mart reading the labels of anti-wrinkle creams...woe is me. My daughter asks me why men go bald and women don't... cruel beyond measure. It's over... it's just over... I can sense my groin shriveling like the sere and yellow leaf. What's a man to do?
I've had just about enough of this shit.

They say mountaineers don't reach their prime until 45. So I am in my prime. What do I do to fight back the ravages of time? #1 yoga, including meditation - #2 take natural food & vitamin supplements daily - #3 watch what I eat.

I tried all that, but it didn't work. But, I will say that I look damned good in those red pumps.Artsay wrote:Aw man, that's not a pretty picture you just painted. Don't know what a man would do but a women would go get her hair died, a pedicure, and buy a new outfit.

In all seriousness, Yoga is probably your best bet. It'll keep you body in better condition than any other exercise. Although, CCG's recommendation could be a more fun alternative.
