Spring is just around the corner

Post by GWG »

In just 18 days, it will be the Winter Solstice; the shortest day of the year. After that, the days begin to get longer. It won't be long before I will start seeing the sun again. :D

It's always nice to have something to look forward to with anticipation!

I like winter. Even though the cold wind has a hard bite sometimes, winter is a time for me where I can relax. When it's dark at 5:30pm there's nothing to do outside so all of a sudden I have so much time in the evenings to do things I normally don't get to do. Also, the warmth of our house feels so good against the harsh temps outside and sitting down early to a movie and dinner is easily justifyable. Then when spring finally comes, the feeling of getting out and feeling the warm sun on my skin feels so incredible after being locked up all winter. Without winter, spring wouldn't feel as good.

I hate driving to work in the morning while it's dark, then driving home when it's dark again. I barely get to see the sun. :(

THAT is exactly the type of attitude I TRY to keep, GWG. I really dislike the cold, short days of winter and cen feel myself becoming "bummed" after the Summer Solstice, when the daylight hours become shorter. Once the Winter Solstice hits, I know more sunlight is on the way.

Is it April yet?

I totally agree with Artsay. I'm sleeping a lot these days ... and it's so nice.

a friend always says "never wish away time, because you can never get it back", and it's true, but when the weather stinks how could you not long for the sunshine of spring?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't rain like every day last April...Spring kind of sucks too, for climbing. But I do agree that Spring is so much sweeter after a long dark cold winter!

We just finished the best month and season of the whole year!
