im coming first time to the gorge( new and red river)
i would like your help in choosing best guidebooks?
or other suggstions .
also will be happy to get reccomendations about 5/11d - 5/12a good one that worth doing
prefer vertical/ slightly overhang

There are 3 guidebooks that cover the area. Red River Gorge North, Red River Gorge South, and Miller Fork. It is pricey to buy all 3 of them, and you will likeley not use all 3 of them. The online guidebook on this site is fantastic, but you will need to print stuff off and bring it with you. I also have heard people are having trouble finding the South guidebook as they are running low on copies.

Good advice from milspec - if you are looking to ball on a budget, you can use this site and print out paper notes. Works very well.
Good 11d's and 12a's? Holy shit, there's a million. My favorite 11d in the gorge is definitely The Infidel at Funk Rock. That climb alone is worth the hike in my opinion.
