Uploading pics, better quality.

I'm pretty computer stupid. As some of you might have noticed I uploaded some pics to the photo gallery. Most of them look pretty bad, I'm guessing, due to the resolution. I get the pics scanned by the company ( www.photoworks.com ) who processes the film. Any tips, ticks, and hints on how to get better looking pics would be appreciated.
