Murder Branch

The forest service gate to the Murder Branch climbing area is now open. It usually stays open through deer season. But not always. Murder Branch is near Long Bow boat ramp on Cave Run Lake the road is called Big Woods near the now closed Ross's Grocery. There is a mix of trad and sport. But the trad routes about 4 miles out on top of the hill are exceptional. The 5.8- Pleasant Undercling (120') is easily 5 star and the 130' 5.11c Warlocke may be the most stunning line in Kentucky. Check it out while you can drive out there. ZERO crowds!!!
