Help support a new wilderness medical team in the Red

As you might be aware, wilderness medical care for accident victims is very limited. The local SAR teams, while skilled at rope rescue, aren't licensed EMS agencies and are limited to providing first aid only. On the other hand, the local EMS agencies generally will not leave their vehicles at the trail head due to concerns about workers comp, proper training, etc.
To solve this dilemma, a group of medical professionals with passion for the Gorge has worked with the Powell County government to form a specialized wilderness medical team out the Powell County Ambulance Service called RedSTAR: Red River Gorge Special Treatment, Access, and Rescue team. In short, it's a dedicated volunteer unit consisting of EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, and Physicians, many of whom are climbers, who have the capability to treat patients at the Advanced Life Support level anywhere in the Gorge. BUT, we have an extremely meager budget from the county and we need to raise our own funds!
RedSTAR has the ability to provide advanced pain control, establish airways, decompress chests, treat orthopedic injuries, provide backcountry cardiac support, and administer a wide range of treatments for everything from anaphylaxis to internal bleeding. Right now, we only have the funds to do so for a few months.
Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign here: https://www.gofundme.com/redstarmedical .
As we are a unit of Powell County government, your donations are tax deductible as explained by the IRS here: https://www.irs.gov/Government-Entities ... ion-Letter
