Bouldering in RRG

Post by jkelly97 »

So I know bouldering in the gorge is kind of an eye roll topic, however I just got into climbing about a year ago with a friend so I've used his stuff (other than harness and shoes) up to this point and have no gear of my own (college budget, what can I say). My family is headed up to the gorge for thanksgiving and I've never been (usually climb in the Carolinas) but I have no gear for any real climbing, and as appealing as it sounds to hike around with the fam looking at things I wish I could climb, I was hoping there would be something I could Boulder around on to at least get a feel for the area. Only have a few days there so I'm hoping I can hit the best places (long approaches are ok as long as it's a decent trail, hard to find places however.. Well it wouldn't be the first time I got lost trying to find a Craig) Any suggestions where I should go?
