Not that I'm complaining, but has anyone else thought there are fewer climbers in the Gorge this fall? The few times I've been out in August and September it hasn't felt overcrowded and I've been to popular crags not some backwoods shit. I have no stats to back me up, maybe I've just been lucky. Like today we were at Pebble and there was hardly anyone there, never climbing right next to anther group, but there were quite a few cars parked at the split I'm guessing they were all at Pistol. So have I been lucky or are there fewer climbers out there this season.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
There were alot of people at Military on sat-although everybody was concentrated on the front side...
Ditto on Oil crack yesterday, except I think most people were at the older section there, which is unusual.
I've noticed within the past few weeks that whenever there's a bunch of people climbing they're always kinda grouped together. People never seem to spread out and go to different crags.
We're all in this together

Its that pack instinct. People bitch about the crowds(not you Sarah) then they pack together with 30 of their closest friends while at a wall and forget about the two miles of climbs around them. It's an instinct. Its human.
The last two times i was at roadside it was empty.I have never seen that place on a saturday with less than 10 people there. It was great i hate crowds.
