Any info on best place to stay and best routes that go to south summit? Can't find much info. Is there a climber friendly campground? Thx
Shadows camp ground is where most climbers stay. I always liked princess snow bird. I would say the whole town is pretty climber friendly. Almost all the routes on the south peak can finish on the summit. The ones that I like that pretty much end right at the summit are Green Wall, Gunsight to South Peak and Totem ( doesn't end right on the summit, but a short scramble will get you there). But most routes end on a large ledge, you unrope walk to the summit block and climb the last 15' to the top. Once you summit once, then you may opt out of climbing to the top every time. But I try to go to the top at least once a trip...
