If anyone believes Wes is full of it when it comes to this "purist" crap he is spewing...give me an AMEN! :D WHOOOO!

To further prove my point, please refer to the Rocktoberfest schedule at http://www.thered.org. Seems there is a clinic being taught by our very own RRG Evangelist Wes Allen entitled "Sport Climbing Techniques" (should actually be called "Tricks and Tactics" as opposed to "Techniques" though). Does this strike anyone as ironic? But, judging from the titles of topics to be covered, we can 'Rest Asssured' that the information contained in said lectures will be both helpful and accurate. Thanks Brother Traddie Wes "Jim Baker" Allen! ;)

I think Wes' attempts to recruit bouldering partners are pretty creative. I suspect he might also be trying to fight off the hoardes of people begging him daily to share a rope.

It must be awful being Wes. So popular. So strokeable.

I agreed to do that class while blinded by the bling-bling of shiny draws! Of course, I will do my very best to teach sport climbing, and I will keep my views of the lack of purity to myself. But, I will drop some hints, and I will perhaps pick a few of the more promising students for help finding the path of pure climbing.

 ! No Wes, you were blinded by Terry's shiny chalk bag! You couldn't have picked a craftier veteran to glean your material from though. :D

The sparkling jackass? That has been known to blind more then a few people.

But, all kidding aside, I really am planning on being a bouldererer mostly. It is just what I like best. If you all want to play with your shinny gear and all, then it is cool with me. I will be on the little rocks, climbing pure.

Wes-I have to agree, climbing is all about the movement(for me), that is why we climb in gyms right...so bouldering is the purist form of climbing...BUT routes are where my roots are at(or is it roots are where my roots are..I can never get that straight), and there are SO many awesome routes at the Red. I pure climb-boulder-in the winter when the purist holds(slopers) are ripe!
