Road conditions in PMRP

Post by Savage »

Weather reports are looking too good to pass up this weekend, so I think I am going to make my innaugral trip for the 2014 season. Just looking to get a heads up on road conditions for the southern region. Driskell posted that he hear bald rock rd was in rough shape, just looking for someone to elaborate. How bad is the Lode hill?

The ground is saturated so dirt and gravel roads will have soft spots. There's a lot of mud if you get off travelled surfaces. Haven't been down the Lode hill in a few weeks (since the first round of snow). Others probably have better first hand knowledge.

With all the run off of snow and what not the Lode hill will be very wet and sloppy if you have 4WD you should be fine but with front or rear wheel it might be pretty tough to get out.

OK, thanks for the input everyone. I'm sure I will be checking it out and I can report back with the status.

FYI some Forest Service gravel roads are also closed - http://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/dbnf/aler ... ?aid=21513. You will need to call the Gladie Center to find out the current road closures.

Lots of 2WDs in PMRP today. Didn't see any problems.

Road down to the Lode was in decent shape. A bit rutted out, but passable. Also fairly mushy in some spots. No problems I. My 2WD wagon.
