Hey, did anyone else notice that SSS stated that the RRGCC has the down payment for the So. Region and is proceeding with the purchase? Hellooo?
The RRGCC is proceeding successfully on schedule with the land purchase with the Murray family, who enthusiastically support our purchase, while we are still trying to pursue an amicable resolution with Charmane Oil. We wish to thank everyone for their financial support, contributions, and donations--they are greatly appreciated and are still very much needed to make this purchase possible. We have enough in hand, and in pledges, for the down payment to sign the contract. There will be an additional $15,000 needed to finish the environmental assessment (being conducted right now), survey, title search, and outside legal fees before the end of the year.

I haven't even climbed at the Red yet, and I am sooooo excited and happy for you all. It is so nice to see climbing communities getting together for such a great cause.
It feels like a big group hug and lots of lovin'!!

Maybe it's a side-effect of being an on-line forum, but there seem to be several contenders for the role of Cartman.

Personally, I was more focused on the $15k and totally missed the previous statement. Yipiee!

Let me express my condolences to the poor shmoe who has to deal with the survey and title search.

Does anyone know what the 'environmental assessment' entails?
