been out for 6 months due to a demotivating string of overuse injuries. severe golfer's elbow ended up being the final blow to a 5 year training run. rather than lower the volume and rehab i decided to play video games and drink beer for several months.

as a result i'm fat (climber fat, not kentucky fat) and almost mediocre at League of Legends. rather than continue getting 'pwnd' by foul mouthed 15 year olds i have decided to commence with the climbing again. still have tendonitis (not doing anything doesn't actually work for healing shit) but i'm pretty confident i can get back to rock in a month or so.

please share epic comeback stories so i can go ahead and pencil in a 5.14 on my calendar.

okthx
xoxo

I just got surgery on my wrist to help correct a tear in my tfcc. I'll be out for a month or two. I'd be interested to hear some of these comeback stories as well.

new word for you tommy "tronsite" Its kinda like "back leading" but for the first time thus "top rope (tr) onsite." All us quitters are doing it now.... or you know... whenever we get out there a couple times per year anymore...

My twin daughters make me fit right in with the cool kids. I think I saw 5.14 stamped on the bottom of a beer can... stuck it son!

5+ years after getting drugged out of the crater and the subsequent spinal fusion i can almost see my left side abs again. it's been a tortuous and humiliating struggle for my vanity. on the bright side, it has been discovered that frequent orgasms are every bit the equal of nerve stimulation in muscle recovery. obviously, i admire your use of alternative medicine.

I'm Kentucky fat. This weekend I was at my highest weight ever. "Quit" climbing in 2006 and only managed to get out on some easy slabby stuff in the years since. I'd quit bouldering a few years before that because of tennis elbow (I hate golf). I had a lot of mental demons that kept me from climbing harder when I was 25 pounds lighter than I am now. I think I've finally defeated a lot of those old bugaboos. My body feels good, it just jiggles more than it did when I could still call myself a climber. Not that I was ever a svelte climber. Oh, and I just turned 40.

The kids are finally old enough to enjoy climbing so I want to get back into it.

I haven't comeback yet, but I've decided I'm shooting for the moon. My wife and I, and another local, have decided we live close enough that we're going to start biking to the crags. This is going to be a slow process, but I think in the long run it's going to pay off big time.
