Children's Helmet?

Post by climb2core »

So, it seems that an 8 year old will soon be out climbing me and will start leading this summer. Wanted to get a helmet to avoid looking neglectful in case the kid whips and knocks his noodle and all...

Any suggestions?

Petzl makes good helmets and apparently the PICCHU is new, but considering it says 3 - 8 years of age he might outgrow it fast. The headband is 48-54 cm, and so you could see what size he is now, which will help determine how long he might be able to use it for. http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/mountai ... ets/picchu

The normal Elios helmet comes in 2 sizes:

Size : 1
Head circumference: 48-56 cm
Weight : 300 g

Size : 2
Head circumference: 53-61 cm
Weight : 330 g
