Rocktoberfest - Important Information

Important information for Rocktoberfest Visitors:

If this year is anything like the past few years, more climbers will visit Muir Valley during the event weekend than any other venue in the Gorge, including the PMRP. Although Muir Valley is not included in official Rocktoberfest activities it has been a popular destination during this weekend.

To help make your visit more enjoyable and assist us in managing the large numbers of climbers, please consider these suggestions:

1. Arrive early.
2. Car pool when possible. Although we have two large, well-maintained, secure parking lots, there are limits. After 120 vehicles, we will probably need to turn people away.
3. Consider climbing at some of the more remote areas, such as Coyote Cliff, Slab City, Sunbeam Buttress, etc. Many of these areas within Muir are deserted on busy weekends while the more easy-to-reach walls are overrun with climbers.
4. Please be considerate and don’t monopolize a route or routes with a large group.
5. And, if you enjoy your visits to Muir, please consider dropping something in the donation box at the shelter house when you leave. Or, visit: http://www.muirvalley.com/donate.php for on-line donations.

Thanks!
