If you've been wanting to buy a pair of belay glasses, but couldn't justify dropping the money on the German ones, an alternative has arrived. Belay Specs offer up the an amazingly crisp, clear optics on a tough stainless steel frame at half the price of our competitors. Belay Specs are made in Salt Lake by me, a former Red River Gorge regular. Belay Specs let you keep a close on your climber without having to crane your neck back, making belaying with them infinitely more comfortable than without. If you see someone at the crag with them, ask to try them out and you'll quickly understand the advantages. If you're interested check out our website www.belayspecs.com.

Thanks,
Phil Wilkes

in the next round of modifications, I hope they make the lenses swivel up and down to accommodate different angles of routes.

Piggy - I played around with that and it actually doesn't work. Prisms don't work like mirrors (well not exactly) pivoting the prism doesn't change the angle of what you see it just shifts the center so you'd still have to look up with your eyes or neck to change the angle.

As for the website, I don't know what happened to the purchase page. I'm working on sorting it out.

Too bad, I was about to place an order for 1 million of them, but not any more.
