this weekend - 8 / 9 September - looking for a third!

Post by TIT »

Hello to all our friends at the Red, my wife and I are looking for a climbing partner for this weekend and hopefully several weekends this fall. You might be asking, why do we need a third??! Well we have 2 boys, 4yo and 1 1/2 yo, before you quit reading!!! we are NOT looking for someone to help babysit at the crag! my wife and i will trade off the child duties while the other climbs! So if you are looking for a climbing partner this is your opportunity to get 2 for 1! We climb alot at Muir Valley right now, just because of the simple access and nice facilities for our boys, they love to play in the creeks in the valley! We have been climbing at the red for close to 20 years so we are very familiar with all the different areas, we climb both sport and trad, up to 11 sport and 10 trad, but we dont really care what grades we climb... just as happy on a fun 5.7 trad or a cool 5.9 sport. We have alot of diverse climbing experience all over the country and would be happy to spring for beer and miguels after a good day of climbing...

hope to hear from someone, the weekend is supposed to be beautiful!!

Maybe we can get the Webers to open a babysitting service as well. But seriously... interesting idea though. A week end day-camp babysitting service.

I'm sitting at Miguel's computer. Looking for someone to climb with today (and hoping the rain will stop soon.) Still looking for someone?

My wife and I can't come this weekend, but we would love to climb with you guys sometime. We have a 3.5 year old son and started climbing at the RED this summer. We took him 2x this summer and it was difficult, but fun. We normally travel with a bunch of 20 year olds from the gym and even though they don't mind hanging out with him while we climb, it would be neat to climb with another couple that understands and wouldn't mind trading kid duties.

We live in Michigan and can climb sport .10 and just getting into .11s. We also love Muir Valley, but love climbing anywhere.

And ditto on the weekend day-camp babysitting service.

I'm not currently planning on coming down this weekend (15/16th), but I'm hoping to get back there this fall with my friend who has a 1 1/3 yo, so we may need a third, too. (And watching 2x 1yos and a 4yo might be a little much for one adult, so 2 adults on the ground might be good.)

just borrow one of the hundreds of hammocks now lining the trails and tie the kids up inside while you climb. no baby sitter needed.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

I think I will make it my fall goal to find you at as many crags as possible with both kids and hammock in tow.

lol...two weekends ago we were at techtonic and the group had to have been 15 deep...and right there in the trail going to Dustin's new wall, a nice hammock was strung...wouldnt hurt my feelings one bit if the Weber's banned hammocks just like dogs....
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
