Gumby don't give a fuck. 105 degrees and still out in force

so, you climbed today.....makes sense.

ha, I did get to climb a little, I should note however, that the folks I ran into were actually completely respectful and competent, just new.

I've been on the gumby don't give a fuck end of this story. A couple years into climbing, Spragwa and I didn't even consider temps or clouds, we were so psyched to head to Roadside on a hot summer day. Horatio tried to warn us that we were going to fry, but I think we were freaked out by him potentially being the voice of reason in the group, so we just stuck with our original plans... and probably fried.

There's something really immersive and fun about just giving into the weather and going for it on weekends like the last... same goes for really cold days too. Honestly, the humidity was really low so it felt way better than more typical 90-degree muggy days.

I got in about 8 or 9 pitches, 2 of which were new trad routes, rebolted one at the Lode, drank mucho watery beers, and did tons of swimming... and it was one of the best weekends in recent memory, believe it or not! So glad I didn't just sit around Lex and pretend to be a sophisticated urbanite the whole time... the key is just to forget about grades & climb only for fun again--trad climbing in the Red is perfect for that!

We had a blast this weekend. Climbed in some shaded areas and the cool air coming out of some of the rock felt like a/c. Great weekend.

It's also nice going up to every crag and finding them completely empty... of course, most of the crags I go to are typically empty anyway.
