Hey guys, I'll be in the RRG from 5/12-5/17.
Thinking about camping at Miguel's the 12th and 13th and I'll probably meet some climbers there, but here's my predicament:
My gf and I have indoor climbed a lot, top rope and bouldering... We've never been climbing outdoors. It's a tragedy, we're embarrassed about it, and we want to find a group or someone to climb with who has experience climbing outdoors.
Also bringing my pup and some bikes, if anyone knows of any good trails that would be helpful as well.
willing to help out what we can, we can belay, buy food, give rides...
let me know!

Do you have lead climbing experience? Or are you just trying to top rope?

Nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone of us, no matter what they say, was a brand new, never been outside before, certified gumball.
However, here is typically the problem with trying to solicit strangers to take you out and teach you how to climb outside....
1.)Most times taking out a gumbie is a large investment of time and energy. Experienced climbers will tend to not enjoy spending what are often their few days on the rock teaching some one else.
2.) Most of the people that I have invested time mentoring are people that became my friend in the gym and that asked or were invited to come climb outside. If you guys are at a gym, find and befriend those people. If they already like you, you have a much better chance.
3.) You have no idea of the quality of the mentoring you are getting when find somebody of the internet. Consider hiring a guide like:
http://redriveroutdoors.com/climbing
To your credit, you did offer rides and food. If you throw in some PBR, Clevis Hitch may be your man...

If your climbing in a gym in cincinnati you should have no problem finding someone there who is going to the red, climbtime and rockquest are loaded with RRG climbers.

GF, hot - duh
dog is the bomb.com
We don't know how to lead.
I've tried contacting the peeps at rockquest but they've never gotten back to me. guess the next time I climb I'll print something out and put it on the board.
I think I can get my hands on some pbr but I dunno if i could manage watching someone drink that stuff, especially someone who's been kind enough to show me the gorge. I'll most likely bring a ton of good beer anyways.

True story, people from Cincinnati are generally much better Murderball players than rock climbers.
