Today as I approached a crag, it's name I will not mention, I came across several piles of horse shit. I was more than shocked to see that they were still warm and steaming, even on this warm and humid morning. As the approach trail ended I found 2 young kids, one on his horse and wearing a climbing harness. The other had her horse tied to a fragile sapling and was flaking out their newish looking rope. The kid on horseback was at the start of a route clipping the first bolt. I just said to them, "what the hell?" I was then verbally assaulted and decided to just leave, but before I left I made damn sure to inform them, "Hey! Don't you kids know that this is exactly why Roadside closed?"

Horse>Dog. Useful for transportation, stick clipping, and a whole lot less obnoxious. A buddy and I had joked about this and these kids beat us to it. Ballz.

So, to summarize, either...
a) those kids poached.
b) those kids are the kind of people John and Grant deem worthy of a special pass to climb at Roadside.

I guess maybe there's an option c) and they just got to the crag ahead of their guides that day.

just because she had to take a dump, I would not refer to that guy's girlfriend as a horse. Though some women have large rear ends - it doesn't justify referring to them in animalistic terms. That girl has probably been on a diet most of her life to lose that weight and sometimes it is just stubborn. Granted she should have taken a crap off in the woods and that is a big problem, she still deserves the respect all women deserve.

It's a new development called 'National Forest Land This Side of The Sign'. There is a super classic route called 'Give Me The Juice and The Fruit'. As soon as access issues are cleared up I will post a map to this new/forgotten treasure of the far North.
