This year's Adopt-A-Crag event will be at Military Wall 10:00 am til 2:00 pm this Saturday, September 6. Lunch and tools will be provided! Strong, dedicated VOLUNTEERS are NEEDED. The RRGCC in conjunction with the Stanton Ranger District of the Daniel Boone National Forest will be "diggin'" in at the Gung-Ho Wall to help mitigate impacts to the enviornment from climbing in the area.

Volunteer a day giving back and help make climbing sustainable for the environment.

We will be meeting at the Military Wall parking area (Martin Fork) at 10:00 am to hand out tools and sign-in. Then we will proceed up to Military Wall and work until 2:00 pm leaving plenty of time to still climb. Lunch, Clif Bars and other free "goodies" will be provided. Bring hand tools--hand saws, axes, mallets, etc.--and gloves. We are trying to meet or exceed our record of 45 volunteers in one day! Please join us and come out and show your Red River Gorge Spirit!

Why is the adopt a crag day always at Military? I never climb there, and I see many other crags that need adopting.

Being that we learned alot from last years event, we want to rework the staging areas since they did not hold up so well. We will definitely be hitting other areas as well. Last year we hit left Flank, Phantasia, and parts of Fortress. If you have suggestions for future trail days, please let us know and we will definitely work them in!
