okay, I'm off climbing for three freakin weeks (though I'm still in denial and hoping to be back sooner). Does anyone want to skip climbing on Sunday this weekend and go exploring with me? I'm thinking a grueling ALL day hike, carrying heavy packs just for fun - rain or shine.
Please???
Hiking?
Yo, if I stopped climbing every time I was hurt, well, I wouldn't be climbing much. Just take some Alieve, drink some bourbon, smoke a phat bowl every night, and with a couple of red bull's, you will be good to go on Saturday morning. If anything hurts Saturday night, then repeat the above steps as needed. Oh, and alieve and bourbon aren't to bad for you mixed together. If you need extra help, look into DMSO.

Yasmeen, I am out for Saturday. I may try to come down Saturday night to socialize and to hike Sunday, but right now it's not looking great. The reality is slowly dawning as I get drunker.
I need to get back to trail running or something until I am better.
The diagnosis: torn musle and damaged nerve. I can't feel a large part of my forearm or control my fingers or wrist very well. The surgeon said if I don't rest this completely for at least 3 weeks, I could face permanent disability. Unfreakinbelieveable. Are there any climbs that can be done without the use of a left arm??

I am going to work on applying Arno's methods to walking/running..

My buddy just hiked 1250 miles of the Pacific Coast Trail. Mexico to Washington or some crazy shit. He did the Appalachian Trail alone once too. That boy is Forrest Gump man.
I've been missing backpacking lately, but was unwilling to give up climbing time to do it. I think I need to plan a backpacking trip sometime during the next 3 weeks.
