Ray...
I'm in a really bad need for an email account... I have a hotmail account right now and I am getting hit with spam right and left. I have blocked my limit on junk mail. I was going to sign up for a rockclimbing.com email but they raised the freakin prices to $30 a year?!??!?!?! I don't know if that is expensive or not but I do know I can't afford that being as I need beer and gas and tobacco and beer and fast food and red meat and beer and chalk and tickets to the local movie theater and beer after the movie and...

backpacker.com has free email. I've had a backup account there for several years and it never gets spam. The key to avoid spam is to not provide your email address all over the freakin place. Get a yahoo mail account for website registrations so all your spam goes there.

Also, there is a place called Mail.com (free) that you can actually pick your domain name.

I don't mind the free email serves... I think they are great. But I've been using free email and I keep running out of space. I'm working for my school newspaper (USI's Shield) as a graphic designer and doing odds and ends in the graphic design buss, there is no way hotmail can provide the type of space I get used everyday with advertisements being sent to me by my boss. I'm willing to pay for the space... all I need is an adress book and the ability to create 2 or 3 different file folders besides my inbox. I might just have to bare down and pay the 30 bones, it would be a great alternative.

It will probably be hard to find any email that will let you send/recieve large files. Even on our corporate network we don't allow users to send/recieve huge files (which I know a lot of graphics files are).

Wowwa there Merrick... that would mean I'd have to create a webpage and other stuff. Not that I'm not going to have a webpage of my own by December its just that I don't want to do that stuff yet. Anyhow, I forked over the dough for a rockclimbing.com addy... the good news is, it is a kick ass setup and they lowered the price to 20 bones.
thanks,
Andy
