Who provides the best cell phone service at The Red?

Post by DonnyP »

I'm going to be spending a lot of time at The Red this year and also need to get a new cell phone plan. I've had AT&T and I never have service at Miguel's or most crags, so I don't want to stay with them since I don't have to. Does anyone have any recommendations for a service provider that provides good coverage in the gorge, particularly at Miguel's? Thanks.

I have verizon, and have not had a problem at migs ever. As well as some crags (drive-by, bob, ect in the area). Only real thing i noticed is that if somebody sends you media (mms pictures and other data) it will literally drain your phone in a few hours trying to get it. Other than that texts and phone calls go out fairly well as long as you aren't under heavy treeline and overhanging rock.

I have sprint and I can make calls, use internet, check weather, and send texts with relatively little problem

And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.

Yeah I have had AT&T for the past year and a half and have never been able to make a call or send a text message from Miguel's or most places in the gorge. I think I'll be going with Verizon unless I hear about some other provider that is good in the area in the next day or so. Thanks for the information, people.

Funny thing is that you can see the tower from the Southern region

I am considering sprint & had someone tell me they don't get service. That might have changed since she switched to Verizon.

Can you call at
- Miguels?
- Muir Parking Lot?
- Sore Heel Parking Lot?
- Drive By?
- Rock House?
