TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU
TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU
I am disappointed and embarrassed that some Muir visitors are dumping their trash on our neighbors’ property as they leave. The Tolsons installed a trash barrel for paying guests of their campground just outside of Muir. People leaving Muir filled the Tolson’s barrel with trash from their cars, then dumped the remainder on the ground beside the barrell. Please take your trash with you. Do not dump it on the Tolson’s property.

Wow, hard to believe that you would have to ask people to not dump trash on the ground.

really hard to believe?..you give humans too much credit...self interest and the easy way is always the norm. I will be looked at as the debbie downer, but human nature keeps proving me right over and over and over.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

yes, not hard to believe, unfortunately.
I wonder though, if any of the culpits read this site, or if the warning, once again, is heard by people who already know better. Time for signage above the trash can?

Yeah, I doubt the trash-dumpers have ever heard of redriverclimbing.com. The cans at Roadside were likewise a popular weekly household garbage-dumping site, and climbers often took the blame for that one. All kinds of crap shows up in the dumpsters outside Peaceful Valley every week, yet only one cabin has full-time residents... folks seem to have a lot of trash around these parts, and why pay to get rid of it when there are all these great trash barrels and dumpsters around the climbing areas for free?

Curious, are the cans at RS still overflowing?dustonian wrote:Yeah, I doubt the trash-dumpers have ever heard of redriverclimbing.com. Probably!! I'll take a look later today.

They haven't been since RS closure. Also saw some locals having a picnic there a few weeks ago. That was a first for me.
