What to do on a rest day?

Post by Budoshin »

Looking for something good to do on our rest day in and around the RRG.

We are going to be there mid May so any suggestions would be appreciated.

We are a helpful bunch.

I'll never forget the day I was Left Flank and this Russian couple on a route next to us asked where the closest spa was. My response was, "not that close".

Budoshin, it depends on what you want to do. Lexington is the closest city of any consequence. If you are looking for particular restaurants or shopping you can likely find it there. You could always go to Keeneland and watch the horse races and loose some money. Lexington has an OK local music scene, so you might find something you like in that regard. I don't live in Lex, so I can't be more specific. I'm sure someone on here can help you out with the Lexington scene.

It seems like there are two things that keep the super stars from spending long cycles in the red, the humidity (i.e. short worthwhile seasons) and lack of entertainment.

Oh, sorry, didn't read the OP closely enough. I was thinking down there now.

Of course, if you wait until October, the climbing will be worthwhile and the horses will be going. :P
