After p90x

i'm 90% through p90x and trying to come up with what to do next.
i like the muscle & strength i've developed and I don't want to lose it. not really concerned about gaining more - just not losing what i have. I really like how they give you a program weight lifting that targets all the different areas and I want to do something similar - i'd just rather spend 30-45 minutes a day instead of 60-75 minutes. i'm trying to avoid over working 1 muscle group, so i need something that has work outs that will be balanced with all groups.
do you know of any good videos that would fit the bill? i'm going to start running for cardio, and i like their ab routine - i'm just looking for a program of weights that's not quite as long. any suggestions?

Have you ever tried rock climbing? It's just what you are looking for. It doesn't target any one muscle group, it uses your whole body. It's kinda what our bodies were designed for (climbing).

Josie, since most of the P90X workouts are two sets per exercise, you could do them, just do 1 set each. Half the time. Requires a little work with the remote control unless you can do them by just following the book.

I found myself doing a quicker warmup on my own, and going right into the good stuff... and even just stopping mid way thru the workout, whenever my time allotment was up.
and who is clevis kidding, there isnt 5% who use climbing as a 'workout"..where else can you waste 8-10 hours and only do 30 minutes of sustained activity..hands down, outdoor climbing is probably the worst activity for real results.

check out crossfit.com, interval type varied workouts, rarely workout longer than 30 minutes. a lot of good information there including a Workout Of the Day (WOD) posted daily of course. It's a bit faddish but a lot of their philosophy makes sense ( some seems unrealistic), they really push variety and intensity.. they claim to honor technique but the rep counts in some of the WODs would render form impossible to uphold for 99% of us. Scale it to your ability and enjoy.

Sunday will be 90 days for me too. I think P90X is one of the best out there, I have had pretty amazing results but 90 days is really just the start, it takes a hell of a lot longer to than 90 days to get fit. I am either going to just do the whole "classic" 90 days again or get the P90X "plus" program. If I were doing the program strictly as a cross fit for climbing, I would probably just the "lean" program.
But yeah if you don't want to do another P90X program - just use some of the workouts as you see fit.

Not trying to change the subject but, what is the best workout (running, weights, yoga, blah blah blah, not counting climbing) to improve your climbing from experience?
I think Wes, a few year back started running a lot and then started climbing pretty hard. I have been running a lot for the last few months and it really has not increased my climbing that much because I am spending a lot of time running on the weekends instead of climbing, but when I climb I can insight harder and recover a lot faster. I hope after I run this damn marathon I will be able to start climbing. I hope the cardio will help me a lot.
My brother does the insanity workout and has a lot os success.

they just had some dood from Africa run the Boston Marathon in 2 hours and 3 minutes. I don't think I could ride a bike that fast!
