Hi,
I'm from Alabama, and some climbing buddies and I are planning a trip for Spring Break. Thing is, RRG appears to be huge. I was wondering what the best climbing areas are around a general location, and also, if there are any campgrounds or cabins close to said location (or, vice-versa - good locations to climb that are close to campgrounds/cabins). I found some cabins near Nada Tunnel Area, but not sure how far that would be away from decent climbing. Thanks for the help guys.
I've stayed at the cabins near Nada Tunnel. These are from Red River Gorgeous Cabin Rentals. They are about 1/4 mile from the parking area for Military and Left Flank.
I would recommend checking into the Red River Outdoors cabins as well. Matt and Amy have amazing cabins.
Lago Linda's camp ground!!! Super close to Muir and PMRP, great facilities and let be honest that lady is awesome. If its traditional climbing your looking for head back County Road 9B to "primitive camping" you need a cheap parking pass you can pick up at the shell on your way in, but great traditional crags like indian creek crag, pebble beach and a few others are very close. Check out the guide book also it has an ok map and a few descriptions of places to camp/stay. Hope this helps
