I'm moving to Cody tomorrow (I should be there already, but this weather is shitting on my plans). Word is there's some good bouldering nearby and now I guess I'll need to head to Jackson Hole.

Well, if you like 500,000,000 year old limestone, well bolted world class routes 5.10 up to 14's,
no crowds (except 4th July), summer climbing, free camping.......try Ten Sleep Wy.

pretty much a waste of time considering Lander and Ten Sleep are right there. J Holers have been trying to find/ convince themselves there is good rock climbing in their backyard for decades. Unfortunately the sport climbing is awful and the alpine rock climbing is average at best if you compare it to the Winds, Bugaboos, Yosemite etc.

it's funny they can make rodeo wall look so cool... it's pretty much one of the worst crags i've been to.
if i were a local i'd own this book, but not otherwise.

ha! the cragging around pinedale/jackson is mostly bad. there is some okay stuff scattered around, but not ten sleep, wild iris, sinks quality. the pinedale ice climbing is great but access is horrendous. the galaxy bouldering is actually pretty good. some new areas being developed with some good rock for sure, but they won't be in this version of the guide.

Still, we managed. Wild Iris was an hour and a half away, the local stuff was 10 minutes from town, and the crowds did not exist. Add to that the winds, tetons, and proximity to other sports (skiing, biking, fly fishing, backpacking) and nobody complains.
