What better way to get psyched for the Spring climbing season and what better organization to benefit than the Red River Gorge Climbers Coalition! We at Hester's are proud to announce that we will be hosting a bouldering benefit fundraiser competition on Feb. 26th to benefit the RRGCC! We will have three categories for men and women to choose from: easy, intermediate and advanced. Prizes from our great sponsors will be awarded for the top three rankings in each category, along with door prizes. Sign-ins will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with climbing from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Those who preregister before Feb. 19th will receive a $5.00 discount on the competition entry fee. Competitors may preregister for $15.00 at Hester's Climbing Gym or e-mail us at stronghold.hesters@gmail.com, or $20.00 week of comp. Please come out and support one of the best grassroots non-profit climbing organizations around, the RRGCC and as always KEEP LOUISVILLE CLIMBING!

What a great time for a comp. 20 bucks? Wow that is a great deal! Everybody should go.

I would like to learn more about this Hester's gym, is there a facebook page I can get more info and possibly look at some photos?

I would like a rough estimate. Approximately what grade should you boulder to enter easy, intermediate, or advanced?

Easy: V0-V3
Intermediate: V3-V6
Advanced: V6+

Would it look anything like that, or am I way off? I know V6 is a long way off from V15, but I also don't expect Chris Sharma and friends to show up.

I think that this is a good guideline to go by.

Hester’s Climbing Gym would like to thank it’s sponsors who have graciously donated items to the comp already. Our sponsors include Rock and Ice Magazine, So Ill Climbing Holds, The Trail Store, Mountain Khaki, Thornton’s Corporation, B.A.Gear, Wolverine Publishing and Red River Outdoors. Dr. Bob was also generous enough to donate a one month pass to Torrent. Our sponsors are still coming in and I will keep an updated list on our facebook event page (Cabin Fever Bouldering Benefit). Josh
