Funk Rock City Rebolt Raffle

Picture this- Walking upon a crag of 5-star Red River Gorge Classics hidden deep in the woods of the designated Clifty Wilderness of the Daniel Boone National Forest....Now picture wanting to repeat all those classics but being too concerned to trust your life to a bolt placed 20 years ago and well past its prime... Now picture wanting to keep these true classics open for years to come but being restricted to only using a hand drill...Now picture how hanging in a harness all day long, swinging a heavy hammer as hard as you can trust your aim, dealing with messy glue and long cure times all the while your buddies are off sending in the sun ? Add to that the cost of all of the drill bits, drills, hammers, glue and bolts...Its a very contrasting picture depending on which side of the hammer your on.....

Im still trying to figure out why the mad man Jeff Neal has made the Funk Rock Re-bolt his mission and how he has the energy to keep going day after day.Myself, am very glad that he does and the only conclusions I can come up with is that its for the beer, ladies and fame.....

My guess is he receives none of the above and has invested more than any sane man would into this project.

In order to help keep his dream alive and his wife from removing him from their checking account we are going to raffle off a prize package and a few smaller prizes to help offset the cost of keeping YOU from being another statistic.

Chances are $10 a piece, this may sound a little pricey but its going to a great cause. The main raffle package is an amazing win having a retail value well over $600.We will also have some smaller one item drawings, with some of the individual drawing prizes over $400.

Buy multiple chances to give out as late Christmas gifts or buy multiple's to pad the raffle on your side.....Or buy them just to rest well the night before you plan to hit FRC knowing the gear your life depends on is new and you helped get it there.

The main package will consist of the following:

1 night cabin rental with Red River Outdoors
Month access code for Torrent Falls
A goodie package from Joshua Tree Climbing Salve
A set of Black Diamond Quickdraws
A Petzl Gri-Gri
A Team Suck T-shirt
Hardware from Petzl and Team Suck to develop a route in the PMRP , and the skills to help if needed

There will also be quite a few smaller prizes to be drawn for including :

Native Sunglasses
Patagonia clothing
Outdoor Research Rain Coat
RRGCC swag

To purchase your chance go to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... aNonHosted Winners will be drawn on Jan 15th, all proceeds will go to purchasing hardware for the FRC re-bolt project, if by any chance at all there are funds left over once the FRC project is complete donations will go to regular Team Suck anchor replacement around the region.

If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with me anytime. Also, if you see Jeff, shake his hand and buy him a beer.....beer can be given to me for storage as needed

Thanks
Matt

I don't have money, but I do have weekends free and am bored out of my mind. I live about 1 1/2 hours away and would be glad to help anyway I can. Never bolted, but use to set in a gym and have worked on cars since I was 4 so Im mechanically minded. Would only be needed shown something once. Jeff, if you would like some help on weekends PM me and we'll see what we can work out.

I threw my hat in the ring for some chances... I'm torn between telling more people to get in on the fun to help Jeff versus padding my chances to win these sweet prizes. ;)

I'm also down to help out; and I would love to get out there to offer a belay, haul some gear up to the crag, and I would love to take some pictures of the work Jeff is doing... Hit me up with a PM and I will work the magic with my horrible work schedule to get down there.
