Good Things from Bad Situations: Landing Zone in the Works

HUGE donation came in this week from Philz Camping: A Landing Zone (for air evacuations) near the Motherlode and the PMRP. Due to the recent climber accidents, Philz responded immediately with getting a Landing Zone constructed on Bald Rock Fork Rd. They consulted with local SAR and an official from Air Ambulance Services for specifications, got donations of equipment from two oil companies and it's being constructed as I write. In fact, if you're in the area today, you may see a chopper hovering to collect coordinates. Construction will be near complete today and ready to go for the event.

This will serve not only the climbing community, but the population near the area.

Big thanks to Phil, Bev, Jeff and Lisa of Philz Camping; Ronnie of SAR; Brittanica and Triad Oil Companies -- all who made this possible.

And .... more news:
1. Lee County put some effort into the road today leading down to the Motherlode and PMRP. It's very nice!
2. A litter will be stored at Philz Snack Shack, which will serve the Lode and nearby region of the PMRP (we still need a savvy idea for the Coal Bank area).

Disclaimer: this work is completely separate from the RRGCC and is being done by people who are not climbers, but people who have nothing by support and kindness for us.

Wow, this is super impressive. These people need a huge huge clap on the back, man hugs (you know the kind that two men do that usually never happens between two men), handshakes, gift cards, and any other form of appreciation that people can pour onto them. This is where people show their real hearts outside of their chest. Thank you everyone that is involved with this from a climber that really really hopes that he never has to use it, but still feels it is needed.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I hope your actions are infectious and spread.

My offer still stands on the mowing of the landing zone...I live near the PMRP and would have no problem donating my time and equipment helping with the maintenance of this property...Also if anyone else needs property maintenance in the area PM me...
